Salone del Mobile is the chosen venue for Vista Alegre to present the collection celebrating the brand's 200th Anniversary.

After Paris at Maison&Objet and Frankfurt at Messe Ambiente, Vista Alegre is now bringing its collection to Milan. 

Vista Alegre is celebrating 200 years, marking a remarkable longevity that will be properly commemorated throughout the year, extending into 2025. Alongside the many initiatives planned to celebrate its exemplary history, characterized by boldness, ambition, determination, work, and perseverance, Vista Alegre will be launching a series of pieces that honor its memory, bridging the line between the brand's past, present, and future.

Vista Alegre was established in 1824 in Ilhavo, in the north region of Portugal. Over the years, the brand has been closely associated with Portugal’s history and cultural life, earning a unique international reputation. In 2001, Grupo Vista Alegre (porcelain, faïence, and stoneware) merged with Grupo Atlantis (high-quality handmade crystal and glass), forming one of the largest tableware and giftware groups in Europe: Grupo Vista Alegre Atlantis.

In 2009, Grupo Vista Alegre Atlantis became part of the Grupo Visabeira company after a public takeover bid of Vista Alegre Atlantis shares. Each year, the design of this Portuguese porcelain, crystal, and glass brand gathers the attention from prestigious international design awards, including the German Design Awards, LIT (Light in Theory), Good Design Chicago, Innovative Interiors, European Product Design Awards, IF Design Award, German Innovation Awards, Architecture Master Prize, German Brand Awards, among many others in countries such as Germany, the United States, and Italy.

Contemporary design artists in painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, and other art forms have contributed their talent to many creations of the brand. Some of the artists and designers associated with Vista Alegre include Siza Vieira, Joana Vasconcelos, Patrick Norguet, Claudia Schiffer, Ross Lovegrove, Marcel Wanders, Jaime Hayon, Malangatana, Sempé, Brunno Jahara, Sam Baron, the French brand Christian Lacroix, Oscar de la Renta, among many others.

THE MEANING

Through a unique partnership between Vista Alegre and Bordallo Pinheiro has emerged the collection The Meaning. This new line blends techniques and materials that bring a collection to life where imagination is served at the table and is present in every detail.

In the The Meaning collection, a secret garden is born. A space of delight and contemplation, filled with symbolism and elements that continuously open up to new interpretations. Through a concept that harmoniously complements itself, this dreamlike journey includes pieces in porcelain, crystal, and earthenware, enriching the unique imagination of The Meaning.

VORTEX by Ross Lovegrove

Throwing a real challenge to porcelain manufacturing, taking it to the limits of the impossible, Vortex is a collection consisting of three large decorative pieces, formed by a single element molded in biscuit, then polished by hand. With his design, Ross Lovegrove defy to capture the rotating of a force of energy.
